Zach has been out on his mission for one week. He is doing great! The first day he was there the teachers only spoke Armenian to them. Wow that would be a little overwhelming. He says the language has been kicking his butt. I think one week of a new language would be challenging for anyone though. He said he's trying not to worry so much about the language, and focus on scripture study and having Christ as his main priority. Changing his focus, he said, has really helped him with the language. He is able to pray and bear his testimony in Armenian; very impressive. We can't wait to hear him. He said the alphabet is difficult but he got it down and he can read in Armenian very slow. He isn't sure if he is saying things right but he is trying. Zach is very motivated and I know he won't give up until he has the language down. The other day in class he was trying to say "I know Jesus Christ lives" but instead he said " I know Jesus Christ Dances". Everyone got a good laugh.
Zach and his companion, Elder Connor, started teaching their first investigators the third day they were there. They do not waste any time. Zach was saying it gets a little frustrating because he has to much to say but has a hard time saying it in Armenian. I know the spirit is with them and the investigators can feel the spirit and the love he has for the gospel.
Zach also met one of the Osmond brothers at the temple.
