Dear Family
This last
week was a tough but fulfilling week for us. We had a lot of opportunities
walking the beautiful streets of Gyumri. As the rain comes off and on we have
had many chances of cleaning our shoes and pants. A lot! We had a blessing from
the Lord yesterday. One of the many people we talked to in the past week walked
into the church. It was great how the members and the other missionaries
handled the situation. They helped a ton. Elder Yardley did great! He sat with
her for the two hours. And the spirit was super strong also. Her name is Anna.
I have been learning a lot this last week. I have made a sacrifice to wake up
at five thirty and read from the book of Mormon in Armenian. Yes five thirty as
hard as that might be for all of you to believe coming from me.
Also in this
next week we will be having transfers. These last few months have flown by.
Elder Yardley has grown a lot since he has come. He is doing a great job with
having the courage to speak and he is trying every chance that he gets. I also
have learned a whole lot. I am truly thankful for this position that I have put
in to learn in a different view point. Lately I have really learned the importance
of the Book of Mormon in our lives. And we really need to take advantage of
sharing it with others. There are so many people in this world that believe the
bible but in different ways. But when we have the two they make the path to
salvation much more clear. There are many that are in a spiritual darkness and
they are lost. And it is on our part to have that strong testimony, to stand up
for what we believe in. As members of the church it is our duty to invite all
to come unto Christ and to search and to be aware of those opportunities to
share these truths with others. When I say search for those I mean the elect.
There are elect people that are ready to hear the Gospel. And we need to pray
to find those elect. There are people that will not accept us. But we need not
to throw are pearls under the feet of swine. The elect will hear the words of
the Shepherd. We need to be the best examples that we can be in all places and
times. We need to live the truths that we preach. The Gospel is such a blessing
in all of our lives; we feel the joys that come from it. Why not share it with
others? We all need to stand as a light to this world. As the Lord says we
shall not hide our light under a bushel. But put it upon a candle stick and let
it shine unto the world. Take courage and live what you believe and share your
light unto everyone. And when others are converted unto the gospel they shall
have tongues of angels, and speak great words unto others. And have Faith that
God shall place the words you need to say into your mouths. Everything is not
well in Zion yet. My beloved Family we have work to do. And from that work God
shall give many blessings to those that are serving him. Look for those
individuals that are lost in spiritual darkness and show charity unto them, the
pure love of Christ. I love you all Family very much. And I am so grateful for
this Gospel in my Life. I am a half way around the world from you all, but you
all are always in my heart. Don’t ever forget that service to others is the
greatest things we can do in this life. That is where I found my happiness, and
that is where we all can find true Joy. The power of God comes through the
power of obedience to the commandments of God. Sacrifice that time to study the
scriptures every day, and find peace. That is a promise from the Lord. Don’t
put the scriptures away, carry them with you in hand and by heart. You all mean
the world to me, never forget that. Let’s join hands and endure to the end
together family. Never forget your importance. All souls are great in the site
of God. When trials come let’s endure it well in Christ we are all one. But without
Christ we are nothing. This life is hard, but this gospel is easy.
Love Elder
Rackham
