| Elder Kurth , Sergo, the Branch President, and Elder Zach |
Zach had some great news this week. Sergo was called as the branch mission leader. They also have an investigator Edmon who is planning on getting baptized on August 18th.
Zach told us a few stories about some opportunities they have been able to get out and serve. They were able to help out some guys that were remodeling a house and then were able to talk to them a little about families. Zach was saying a lot of the people in Armenia have the wrong ideas about the missionaries and the church so they won't even listen to them. They are trying to do as much as they can to help them out and be good examples. Hopefully the people will see how great they are and change their views about the Church.
Zach and his companion last Monday went with Sergo and President Carter to visit some members in Alaverdi. Zach had a great time! He said the City was surrounded by mountains and some of the city is on the top of the mountains and you have to take a lift to get up there. He didn't send any pictures of the city but i found some neat pictures online.
Alaverdi (Armenian: Ալավերդի) formerly Manes, is a city situated in the northeast of the Armenian province of Lori, not far from the border with Georgia. This mining and industrial city with approximately 16,500 inhabitants -down from 26,300 of the 1989- situated at the bottom of the Debed river gorge, is one of the commercial and industrial centres of the district. It is situated at the only direct rail link between Armenia and Georgia.

Every Thursday the missionaries get to play soccer. One of their investigators and some members joined them also. There were some cows up in the stadium too.
