Baptisms

Anahit and Araksia are two wonderful sisters that love the gospel and are full of so much potential. Each loves spending time reading from the Book of Mormon and sharing what they learned. It has been a tender mercy to learn with them and to see them gain testimonies of the gospel. They are great examples to the rest of their family and will be wonderful missionaries.

Tigran is a great man. He is a friend of the Hovhannisyan family. And the first time we met him was at the stake conferance. I was talking with one of the Hovhannisyans there and Tigran was standing next to him. Khachik introduced him to me, and he agreed to meet with us. Later on in that meeting the part where the members from each branch were invited to stand up I noticed Tigran stood up. I became really confused and figured maybe he was an inactive member, and they were just joking with me. But the next week Tigran showed up to church an hour early and was talking with Bishop when we showed up. The Bishop told us that he wanted to meet with us. So that cleared everything up for us and started meeting with him.

Tigran has been invited to church for years but he never wanted to come. But he agreed to come to the Staked conference and there he started to feel the influence of the Holy Ghost. And he wanted to feel that feeling again. So he started to come frequently to church. That meeting that we invited him to be baptized. He refused to plan a date. He said he will tell us when he is ready. The next meeting we had was a baptism. And at the baptism listening to a child’s testimony he was touched by the Holy Ghost. The testimony of a child helped him receive the answer that he needed to be baptized. As President Hovhannisyan said “we have been trying to convince him for years that this church is true and that he needed to come and find out for himself but he never wanted to and a testimony of a child was all that was needed to break that barrier of doubt". And now because of that pure testimony the Holy Ghost was able to work with and help Tigran make it to the waters of baptism.
