Dear Family,
It seems to me when the weather heats up there it heats up here. Because it was pretty hot. It behooves me to say Happy fourth of July to you all. I hope that it goes really great. We are going to try and set up an activity here. We said our goodbyes to President Carter and Sister Carter This last week. That made me realize that there is four months left for me to serve the Lord here in Armenia as a full time missionary. I have so many mixed feelings about that. I don't know how many of you are familiar with the life of Lorenzo Snow. But after he finished his first mission he had a great desire to serve the Lord for the rest of his life. He was so devoted that he was going to put marriage to the side to do missionary work for the rest of his life. Until Joseph came to him and introduced the commandment for plural marriage. That changed his plans a little. ha. The point that I'm getting at is his attitude towards missionary work. That is the type of determination that I want. That type of attitude to do missionary work for the rest of my mission. I want to be at the right place at the right time to help more people come unto Christ. So i can be a useful tool in the Lords hands.
This is a question that stuck out to me in the teachings of Lorenzo Snow. Are our expectations well founded? In other words are we seeking to purify ourselves? Sometimes our expectations can be high and unreachable. and that can bring disappointment. We just need to have the right reachable expectations so we can purify ourselves and grow as individuals.
I love you all so much and hope you all have a great week.
Love Elder Rackham
