Dear Family
So this last week we
got hit by Jack Frost and its freezing outside. This week also there was a member’s
father that died. Here in Armenia when they die they leave the body in the
casket for three days for people to come and mourn with the family then they
have the funeral. We went the second day and took them a flower arrangement. Then
that night we got a call from branch president saying that the family doesn’t
want us to go to the funeral because they don’t want others to find out they
are Mormons. These are moments were people need to understand the words of
Paul. "I am not ashamed of the Gospel". It’s sad to see that at the
times when people are in need of comfort they turn from those that are there to
comfort them. I don’t know what will happen with this family? I don't know If they will
ignore our calls and not come back to church or if they will come back and find
that comfort. I pray to God that they will come back. They are a great family I
just hope they don’t forget their covenants they have made. The church is in
great need of strong testimonies here in Armenia.
This last week things didn’t
work out to well and I hope this next week will be better. I also wanted to say
congratulations to Jason, and his graduation. I love you all so much.
Love Elder Rackham
