So I wanted to make an announcement that I got the transfer call
this last night and found out that I will be serving with Elder Yardley in
Gyumri starting tomorrow. I’m going to be in a new area without the knowledge
of knowing where any members live. I was also given the position of district leader.
This will be a new opportunity for me to grow even more. I was planning on
doing the district meetings in Armenian because Elder Arshakian will still be
in my district. And then there are 3 new missionaries coming in that don’t know
much Armenian. What do I do? Do it in Armenian or English? I don’t know. Because
I don’t want Elder Arshakian feel singled out within our district.
This last week we were asked to pass out an orange a day as a
gift to people and so they will remember Christ. But instead of passing one out
we passed out 12 in one day. We understood the letter wrong. Ha-ha. Oh well it
made some people really happy. I had one lady that wouldn’t take it when I
tried to give it to her. But when my companion offered her the orange she took it. Interesting
huh? Tomorrow a sister and an Elder are
going home. And our senior missionaries are moving to Vanadzor or Georgia. They
helped a lot in this area. The senior missionaries are the only reason some of
the members would let us into their home. Now they are gone. What a Bummer. They were great.
OH funny story. Uh kind of? We went to Yerevan and on our way
back we stopped at some restaurant and ordered some food. While I was eating I
bit down on something really crunchy and I pulled a piece of glass out. We all thought it was from the
food. The guys that made the food were kind of panicking. But as I further investigated I looked at my
glass coca cola bottle and noticed it was chipped at the top. End of story I
ate some glass. I thought I was going to die. But the branch president and my
companion said I would be fine. I was about to call sister carter. Ends up I’m
alive. And now I can say I ate glass and survived.
Congratulations Jason on your MBA. You look good in purple. ha-ha
